Issue at start up

I'm getting this error at start up, please help.

Clear the cache & cookies for your browsers and make sure to load up Internet Explorer and the close it down. Then give it another try.

I believe you need the most up-to-date version of IE as well.

Is there a way of bypassing it so I don't need IE since I'm on a not so legit version of W7 and can't DL the service pack?

I don't think so. My understanding is that the launcher uses IE.

Have you tried Firefox or Chrome? If you do, the browser must be set as your default browser or it will continue to use IE.
Also you can try to click "yes" or "no"

I had this issue in beta and I went to My Games/Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn/FFXIV_BOOT.cfg and edited 'B4EulaAgreement' from '0' to '1' and it worked from then on so I know that IE isn't mandatory...

I'm afraid that won't help, the launcher uses one of the Microsoft web browser controls, which in turn uses the Internet Explorer engine. I imagine they did this because it simply makes it easier for SE as everyone on Windows should have that (and I guess the assumption is that everyone has it up-to-date).

pW-Pure, this might help though:

In your "Documents" folder navigate to:

My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn

Open the FFXIV_BOOT.cfg file in notepad (just open notepad then drag the file into it)

There's two lines for EulaAgreement and B4EulaAgreement, simply change the 0 on those lines to a 1.

Save and restart FFXIV and it should skip over the EULA.

Yeah, Brain fart. I just did it again but this time for both and it worked, thanks >_<
