Client Issue with PS3

Hey guys,

I'm not sure if its only me or something wrong with the client! i'll tell you guys the scenario i'm having here! But before I start I would like to mention that I have a legacy account/character (my game is 1.0 collector's edition)

• I purchased the game from Amazon (FFXI: ARR Collector's Edition PS3)
• I pasted the promotional code i've recieved from Amazon to the pre-order website and recieved the PS3 code game.
• I installed the game for my PS3. I updated the client, logged into my account and here comes the issue!
• While going through the steps, I had two choices where I have to put the game on or link 'em (not sure what was the option exactly) they were to choose either Beta or Pre-order, i've chosen "Pre-order" and clicked next ..
• Now i'm on a page where "it seems" I have to choose a character. In my case, i've made a character before phase 4 ends, but I only logged in it once, it was like a mule or an alternative character. The problem is, my main character doesn't seem to appear on the list! and the mule/alt character is already ticked and cannot tick it off.
• I tried to scroll down or move the cursor somewhere that might trigger my main character, but it doesn't seem listed at all.
• Not to mention, I think i've deleted the mule/alt character but not sure if I have done that in the first place to be honest. Further more, I can see the two characters the mule and the main in the forum.

This is my issue, hope you guys assist me with it ..

Ok here are screen shots taken from the PS3 .. not sure but when I started registering again it seems the dialog was asking me what do I want to use the codes for? either new account or run it over an existed account. But would you guys ensure that point for me please? because seriously I cannot understand thier registeration (English is not my native) Well, by the end I clicked on NEXT and registered... my only concern is why was my KEN RAGE character (main character) not mentioned, instead the only mule/alternative character mentioned was "Kenshiro Al'ateg" which from my thought i've deleted it ....

To make things clear, Whats written on the second picture is:

Please select a service account to register FFXIV: A Realm Reborn - Pre-order code PLAYSTATION 3 or create a new service account by selecting an existing service account. you will be able to play on a different platform using said service account as well as transfer characters created during FINAL FANTASY XIV Version 1.0. the beta test and early access.

If you select and existing service account. please confirm the characters and options available before continueing.

*Service accounts that have become inactive will be reactivated automatically

That's kind of scary... seems they are giving you the option to choose between your existing character from beta, or a new character to get the preorder bonus. Can you not apply the preorder bonuses to the beta character?

By the way, are you able to go "back" and choose the beta service to see if it gives you the same preorder options?

Well, the option comes after I choose Beta or Pre-order is the same.. however, when I choose Pre-order, I can either apply the Pre-order codes on my 1.0 account OR create a new account (from my assumption)

I already applied my pre-order codes on my 1.0 account, but i'm still extremely worried lol.

Ah ok. The whole 1.0 service transfer sure does complicate things. I'm just playing for first time on PS3, so I'm hoping it will be a bit more straight forward. Pick pre-order- add to beta character and bob's your uncle. Unfortunately I cant even get in right now due to technical issues on PSN.

I have the same issue but im not legacy: I played on B4 with my main character, at some point i got error 9000 well i kept playing , anyway at the near end of the B4. When the NA servers were geeting fixed and got closed i created a random. Character . Just to play a bit. Anyway after that, i never got online again, until now that im lauching the new. Client and everything... The problem is that. At some point of the details you have to agree and everything, i have to confirm the details of my service account FFXIV-pre order code PS3 and i can only choose my random char that i made at the end, and not my main character, I went to this loadstone forum and i can select as my main the main char the origianal Hyur ( main charcater) and the other Random one. Whats happening what should i do, i want the pre order bonus on my main char not on my alternate char.

I want to say that it may let us choose our main char when the EA starts but this whole confirmation thing worries me. Im going to wait a bit before I click next and come back later

I'm in the same boat. I created an alt on a JP server because of 3102 and it was the only name that showed up when I linked my accounts. I'm hoping it's just SE way to show just the ALT character under option and hides your main. Can anyone with only 1 character confirm that nothing shows under options? Or does it show your only character?

Seems as though quite a lot of people are experiencing this problem.

I also created a character on a JP-server because of the 3102-situation. This was a character I created just so I would actually get to play during the Beta 4. I logged in with my main character after the 3102-issue was fixed, so I'm wondering why my alt. character is the one showing. If my alt. character had been the last one I used during the beta, I would've understood it more. I sent a mail to customer support, but I'm not holding my breath when it comes to actually getting an answer before I have to make a choice so that I'll actually be able to play during early access.

To me, it's not so much the fact that I might get my alt. character - the reason being that they're pretty much equally levelled. My biggest concern is that the character is on a JP-server, which ain't exactly ideal since I'm from Europe.

So, what do we do, or do the bonus apply to all your characters? Or just one?
