Manual way to link PS3 to PC without ps3?

So, 1.0 player here, non-legacy. I own a PS3 but lent it to a friend to try beta. They are at the other end of the country.

I have preordered the PS3 version. I have got my preorder code and registered it with the SE site, got my code, which I then went to the PSN website and used. I now that FF14 on my list of owned items.

Now, the problem is, I have no PS3 to link my PS3 account to my PC account. Is there a manual way to do this?

On the SE account, it says I have linked it to my "PSN account" (the place to link to xbox 360, facebook, etc) but I don't think it will link from the PSN -> SE -> SEAS (Square Enix Account System).

Right now, all I am getting is "There is no service account" error when I try to log in on the pc through the client.

I have somewhat the same problem. I am 1.0 player and have bought ps3 version to get the EA and the caith sith minion. I do not own a ps3 yet though. Atm I cant link my sony network account to my SE account as i get the message: "Account linking failed. This may be due to your PlayStation Network account being incomplete." Ive set up the account as complete as possible without actually owning a ps3. I've sent in a ticket but really hope to be able to link this and be able to play the EA on my normal pc account.

i don't believe there is a way to link the two together since from what i've heard, the linking involves logging into the game from the PS3

That sucks, pretty much screwed over the 1.0 players that still want EA and the minion but don't own a ps3 then. As we were told we couldn't add a pc preorder to our exsisting 1.0 account.

Unfortunately, no. When EA starts, I'm quite certain that you'll have to log-into your SE account using your PS3 client. Then it updates your SE account with the linked PS3 code.

Correct, as of right now you can launch the ps3 launcher from the xmb and as soon as you do it starts the linking process. Even if you were in ob phase 4 it will still redo it. At that time you pick the ffxiv service account you want to attach EA and items to and that is it. You can of course redeem EA code online at the sony entertainment network account provided it is working. (which it may or may not be) You cannot though link anything without a ps3 at this time. I confirmed this by waiting on web chat hold for 2 hrs yesterday. I hope this helps.

Does it link it to the actual ps3 or just to the account? Could you call up your buddy with your ps3 and have him log on under your PSN account and link it for you?

It links to both your se service account and your psn account. Nothing is stopping you from having your buddy login to his or her ps3 as your psn account and doing the linking. That works just fine. Just remember that the only person that can use the ffxiv software is the one whose service account and psn account are linked. I tried it in my home and ffxiv 2 and ffxiv 3 were not allowed to login just me on ffxiv 1. It is that restricted.
