[Suggestion] Proposed Solution to AOE Prompt with Each Spell

I would very much love to see two buttons on or near the action bar. One to toggle AOE for offensive spells and the other to toggle AOE for friendly spells.

Even one button for both would be acceptable. It can be pressed or simply used as a visual indicator for those who would just like to press Z, for example, to toggle it on or off. While toggled on, all spells would be AOE by default; whereas if it were off, all spells would be single target only.

The removal of that prompt after every single spell would greatly improve the enjoyability of playing the DOM classes, for me anyway.

I imagine the current implementation was probably just a temporary solution and something similar may already be in the works, but I thought I'd get this particular discussion going since it doesn't appear to have been brought up in its own thread recently.

It'd be awesome if it was just:

Choose spell -> Show reticule on target -> hit an AOE button like "+" or something else -> Show reticule on all targets in AOE!

Simple :P and like other FFs, hit one button and spells go multi-target!

Well, right now I think you can hit Z once you have selected the spell and it toggles it on or off just like pressing the button does. So it is kinda like that at the moment. I'm sure some people would like your suggestion. It'd give them a visual indication of which specific mobs are in range, which is its own perk.

I just prefer minimizing mouse-clicks or keyboard entries where possible.

Actually I think they should just get rid of AoE mode. Every single Final Fantasy game Ive played had -aga spells and it worked just perfect. What we got in FFXIV is just wrong so get rid of it. Lower single target spells action cost to 1, put -aga spells with action cost 2 and everything will start working like it should. What is the problem with implementing -aga spells? 30 /equipaction slots it not enough? Then make it 40 or 50 (without changing action slot cost for other abilities it wont affect other jobs at all), or just get rid of all that /equipaction system which is lame anyway.

Honestly, I'm fine with that too, Chory. Whatever is done, that prompt with every single casting has to go.

Would be nice you being able to set individually the AoE You could make a macro and cover all pallete the way you want. Like if you have the pallete like this: 1-cure 2-sacrifice 3-fire 4-protect 5-banish you could just make a macro like this:

/aoe 1 on
/aoe 2 on
/aoe 3 off
/aoe 4 on
/aoe 5 off

This would leave spells of slot 1, 2 and 4 with aoe on and spells of slot 3 and 5 off.

Yep we need more widgets and less "3 keystroke casting" little annoying to say the least.
