Predict ARR review scores?

Its only a couple of weeks until major websites and media will release their reviews of ARR! What score will ARR recieve? I hope for between 8-9/10 from critics and some major headlines like " FFXIV is THE comeback for the FF-series and one of the best MMO releases this year" .....

What do U think will happen?

I am pretty much hoping for the same thing!

I'm an optimist, so my estimations shouldn't count :p, but I'd like to say that many of the major game reviewers will be like "NINE, YEAH BABY!" and even some "TENS! I'M QUITTING EVERYTHING FOR THIS GAME -- WOO HOO DIVORCE COURT!"

The lowest anyone will score is a SEVEN, and those people will be abducted by aliens, and mauled viciously, and forced to wear subligars for the rest of their years...

my prediction:
its going to hit a average score. the battle system will hurt it and been there done that.

Too hard too say, traditionally MMO reviews don't happen till about 2~4 weeks after initial launch.
Serious reviewers will probably review after reaching LV 40~50 content and play that for a while.

I'm expecting a lot of 8/10 scores and maybe a odd 9/10

I think it's going to end up in the 70-75/100 range. It's going to be seen as an improvement, but I believe critics are going to dock it for lack of innovation, and the battle system being a massive flaw.

People will knock the battle system but honestly, how can you find a good balance for a game with cross platform support? Thats why I think the battle system is fine as it is.

nothing in this game thats new so no way it can get more then average score. everything has been done before. it more like everything else on the market.

#1 issue will be the battle system, #2 will be lack of innovation, #3 like everything else.

But it does everything better than what's been done before.

And the battle system is not going to be universally abhorred the way some people think; it's a compromise and that's why people at either end of the spectrum (100% action vs passive) complain about it. For the rest of us it sits comfortably in the middle.

You don't have to do something brand new to get great press or reviews. You can do something that's been done before and do it well and get a 10/10. Look at Mario Galaxy or countless other Square Enix, Nintendo, or Konami games.

I agree that reviewers will likely comment upon points #1 and #2, but point #3 feels like an overstatement to me, no viciousness meant!
