RareEx was founded on June 7, 2012 by Kai Ryu and Wendy Marvell, and is an endgame Free Company of the Hyperion server on Final Fantasy XIV, which aims to complete all content the game has to offer. RareEx prides itself on being a fair, productive, and enjoyable experience for all of its members.
Although RareEx had a late start on Excalibur during Final Fantasy XIV 1.0, we quickly became one of the most notorious Linkshells in all of the game, having completed every piece of endgame content multiple times by the end of 1.0’s service and garnishing ourselves over 70 relic weapons.
RareEx currently has a wide array of talented members but realizes the importance of always looking for even more dedicated players to tackle all Final Fantasy XIV content. Skill alone, being valued over any other aspects, has moved many of our members to the top of the ranks quickly and has allowed us to complete all obstacles in our path with little or no difficulty.
Most, if not all of our members come from MMORPG backgrounds. Many are Final Fantasy XI veterans, but others come from World of Warcraft, Rift, Tera, and more.
RareEx is a hardcore-oriented Free Company with very high expectations of our members, and the entire group as a whole. The Free Company runs a tight roster with the expectation that our members achieve high attendance on scheduled events, and hold themselves to high-performance standards.

For Social or New Players
Recently we have taken in some new members that have just started new characters, and some of our older members have friends and family that would like to start playing. With consideration of this, we understand that many people still want to be able to play with people they know, so our Linkshell has become a social hub for those that have just started playing, want to take time to learn the game, or might be looking for a place to hang out until they can graduate into endgame.
