Regarding Level Sync

I think this is a good idea IF implemented in such fashion

Allowing the player to manually sync level, and only forcing level sync in these situations,
during lower level FATE's, and in dungeon party's comprised of lower level player, and then outside of these circumstances ALLOWING players to CHOOSE to turn level sync on or off.

i think this is a great method for keeping all end-game content "current" i.e. raids.

has any info been announced regarding if level sync will be forced outside of outlined circumstances listed above? i would hate that, its what ruined GW2 for me.

Level sync is optional for FATE, mandatory for dungeons w/ content finder. (You're automatically synced) I don't think you can just level sync for the heck of it. It is always tied to some type of content.

Wouldn't mind some built-in level sync for quests too. (See sig.) Then again they make it seem quests are only for solo play (which is lame).

you can level sync whenever you want (unless its lower level dungeon content of course). 5th paragraph down.

This is very good new indeed, I am glad to see that Yoshi-P sees how it can be best implemented. +1 to him and the team. This system sounds perfect imo.

Am I the only one that absolutely loathes the concept of level sync? If you have sufficient population there's absolutely no need for it, especially since you can have every job on one character. Want to play with your friends? Grab a job that's close to their level.

But what if the group needs you on a particular job? Or all of your jobs are at 50?

For me, it's more about being able to challenge content that has been designed for lower-levels, ie FATEs and Dungeons, without throwing an imbalance into the experience and disrupting other players' enjoyment.

It worked reasonably well in XI - it looks like the XIV team have learned to avoid the forced-sync XP grinds of that game, which were an unfortunate abuse of the mechanic.

Why do you loathe the concept? How does it hurt your gameplay experience?

What if you don't have a job close to your friend's level? What if you have an excess of on kind of job and need a different role in your party and the only way to do that is for someone to level sync a higher level job?

I'm always baffled by people poopooing options that make everyone's life easier.

You can level sync at any time like XI, it's not strictly for the content finder.

I can understand "not caring" but "loathing"?

How does this hurt you? it doesn't. And what if you have all jobs 50 but want to play with your friend who's just starting out? Level sync would be your only option. Loathing is a deep hatred, in case you didn't really know what it means.
