Can current accounts register pre-order items??

I love love love both the pre-order items, and I'd love to get them, but here's where I'm stuck...

If I pre-order ARR, will I be able to get these items on my PRE-EXISTING account??? If not, I don't want to bother (and will be sad).

Yes, you will be able to get them on your account. They'll be sent to you via Moogle Mail.

Yes you can. They will be sent via the Mog mail through the game. Long gone are the days of having to put codes on an account before creating them.

Would be awesome if a rep could explain us how this works. Im also interested in the Pre-Order items but im afraid that if i preorder a version of the game i cant use the pre order items on my existing account.

Also this: "Please note that the pre-order bonus codes are different for the Playstation 3 and Windows versions."

So if i buy a PS3 version of the game to tie to my PC existing account i wont be able to use the pre order codes? I'm very confused about this.
