What happens if we have the 1.0 standard edition and purchase the ARR physical CE?

Will we be able to get the ingame items on our legacy characters?

I worry that the ingame items will only apply to characters on the CE service account.

You should be able to add the new codes onto your legacy account and it'll upgrade it to CE. In effect that's what the digital CE upgrade is though without the physical goodies.
