Future proofed for FFXIV with new PC.. GTX 680x2 + pics and benchmark.

EDIT: "Bench is not picking up the sli, it's just picking up one gpu"

Took a bit of time but man it was worth it.
So far the numbers show 2x GTX 680 beating the ATI counter parts.
Not by much, but I'll take it.
It also beats one Titan.
Redownloading the benchmark to test it now.
I'll post the results in just a bit. :)

My old PC was a horror story.. Ugliest thing.. Ever..

I was having issues with my ATI system in FFXIV.
To the point it was affecting my game play.
Not this time.. No sir.. Not anymore.. :cool:

Settings @ max for the bench.
Max in control panel as well.
Not included in settings are DOF, motion blur and radial blur, three things I do not like using and I consider to actually make things uglier. Personal opinion.

Benchmark uploaded now.

Not to be a negative Nancy but most Titans, provided the CPU paired is overclocked to not bottleneckit greatly score pass the 10k mark.

The benchmark doesn't use SLI, the scoring you're getting now is just off of one gpu, the score you have now is not your true perfermance, it will be higher once profiles have been made for the benchmark & game.

There's more than a few 7970s once overclocked can also breach the 10k mark.

That's one OC'd titan and I beat it on air cooling.
As well as one or more other Titans in the list.
If I go liquid, I can go even further. :)

Plenty of examples in multiple AAA titles I found, before I made the choice..

I have looked at the numbers.
While I use more power, I will indeed beat one Titan.
Just saying. I did my research :P.

Also I am using an i7 960.
Not a 3960 cpu, so that will cost me some score for sure.
Good point though about the bottleneck.
I'll have to pull a CPU/Mobo upgrade soon.

Oh, be prepared to change the CPU cooler fan. While the cooler itself is awesome the fans on the Mugen 2 are a tad on the low quality side, so they burn easy. I had two burn on me.

If you want spare yourself a stinking case just go ahead and replace it immediately with a higher quality one.

You noticed I have a Mugen from the pic? Nice..lol..

I have honestly been noticing that.
The fan is dreadfully slow and weak.
I didn't know I could buy another fan that would lock in place, like the one that comes with it though.
Will definitely look for one.

The first of mine burned within 3 months.

The good news that that any standard size 120 mm fan will lock in place perfectly, as the clasps provided with the Mugen are designed to fit in the screw holes, that are in a standard position for all fans :D
