I know it's quite late :o but I accidentally dropped my Onion Helm from Collector Edition near the closing of Servers on November 2012, so I didn't look for a solution to my problem. But now I would like to know if I can get it back once A Realm Reborn will be released.

I'm sure in ARR they have a better system to get item back. I know in FFXI they could only get a item that been drop within few hours and you have to give the area it was drop and a time. Also i heard you can only get 1 item back in FFXI/FFXIV 1.0 not sure if that going to keep that for 2.0.
I guess once the game get release try and get a hold of a GM.
