Market Ward thoughts from someone who has been away a while

I stopped playing the game for quite a while - maybe 2 or 3 months - and when I came back to the game I found that I couldn't remember where the Market Wards were!

There is no main mention of the Market Wards on the front page of the site (given that I think it's a pretty key element to any MMO game) and there is no mention of the wards on the in-game maps.
I couldn't find any NPC to tell me where to go - and instead had to resort to Googling for the answer - which I consider to be a game design fail.

I still consider this game to have lots of potential - but I'm finding entry to the game very hard - and am still seemingly unable to acquire any reasonable gear for my class and level.

Maybe make suggest a newbie tutorial like ffxi put in where they kinda show who where the AH is. I find it funny there is no map maker though typically SE good about that.

in every city the market wards are easy to find, they are always located next to the crystal so you can reach them easily by teleporting.

I can agree.
They could easily change it by renaming the Market Ward in the Map in "Market Ward".

Equipment is also a big issue. We dont have much Rank 1-20 Gear. On top of that it's also very costly.

A friend of mine started to play a week ago and without my instructions he would definitly had a hard time understanding all the important stuff like leves, retainers, equipment etc.

If it doesn't say on the map it would be a good thing for SE to add that. :3 They have a lot they're working on and improving right now. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like this added later

You shouldn't assume a person's tone on forums as you can't hear a person's actual voice. This usually leads to being unnecessarily rude to a person.

If you looked on the lodestone there are maps displaying the location of the market wards in the beginner guides in the retainer sections. But yes in the in game maps, the names of the market wards are kinda unique game zone names which can be confusing. A quick shout would probably have gotten an appropriate response though. In FF11 an NPC which gave the option to mark key places on the city maps was added years later which could easily remedy this and be useful. There is no map marking system currently in place though.

What they could do is keep the unique market names on the map but add "(Market Wards)" underneath.
