Graphics advice (follow up - semi resolved)

Hello! its me again!!!!! *cricket noises* >.> <.< I hate you guys.

Anyways I posted that topic about wondering which graphics card to get, I just got it today I ended up going with the 680. And while I am not complaining about the score I am getting on the benchmark I am kinda bummed to see my score being so low compared to other ppl getting 7k-8.5k with basically the exact same set up as me.

CPU: AMD phenom 1090T
RAM: 8 Gigs
GPU: GTX 680

And was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this? maybe they just got much higher scores because they where overclocking it and i am not? if thats the case than I guess i am happy with my score i dont really like to over clock stuff. But is there anything else to tweak the graphics card other than overclocking it and getting the newest drivers for it? I went into device manager and it says i have the most up to date drivers.

Again if you can help much appreciated, if not its ok cause the score is great as of now when not running fraps i score a little over 6k with everything on maximum (everyones probably thinking why is this guy complaining right?) thx for your time in reading this. I'm a little lost. What is your benchmark score? I would say your CPU is bottlenecking your card.


Overclock the CPU for better results and seeing you're on Thuban, overclock the CPU-NB also.

Also you're running fraps...don't record while your testing. give results without fraps

Highest I have gotten was 6,160 with everything on maximum. Just wondering cause i saw someone in the post your benchmark scores thread with the exact same CPU as me and he got a little over 8k maybe even over 9k.

Same CPU, but was it at the same clock speed?

I would assume? He just said it was a AMD phenom II 1090T (he said black edition idk if mine is black edition or not, does that make a difference?) same as mine.

People with black edition cpus typically overclock it, and yes 1090T is a BE chip.

Link to the post and question and make sure the score was for highest setting.

idk how to directly link it but i saw alot of other scores with 1090T's and they got like 6.8k and stuff kinda around where i am at and they said they did OC there cards. So this guy was just lying..............or did something crazy that idk about?

ok thats just what i was wondering cause i upgraded basically based on his score cause he has pretty much the same stuff as me and i was thinking, dang all i need is a new graphics card and i can get 10k+ sweet!!! lol. guess i got played huh? /cries, eh o well atleast now i can comfortably play on maximum settings i guess XD least i know my new card is working. thx for the help ^.^

You can play with ARR with everything on fine, just turn on Occlusion Culling. As that will disable the game from rendering things beyond from what you can see, it is probably the one optimization feature most people can turn on that 90% won't notice in terms of graphic quality.
