Any reason to keep code registration closed?

I can understand why they closed it originally because they may have wanted to change how codes were processed for 2.0 since they added a new way to receive the items from what I hear. But since the beta is nearing and we know we get into the beta by inputting the beta code we'll get through email, I'm assuming most of the reasons why the code registration was stopped would be over. So why not reopen it up? I recently bought my CE and having been itching to input my registration codes. It's not like SE should be worried that people will just put in random codes before the beta start in hopes of finding a beta code since they will likely be generated and emailed simultaneously.

I don't see why you can't wait to release of the game when you would be using the item anyways or even beta4

The official statement might not make it completely transparent.

However, whenever a registration code is set-up it requires payment information such as a credit/debit card or Crysta payment.

Having new users set up their codes whilst the game is currently inactivate may cause confusion for those who believe the game is still in operation. Ceasing these billing procedures until the game is activate again saves time and money on support and billing operations that are pretty much unnecessary until the 'launch period' has commenced.


IF do you have a code, or someone else wishes to register one. Simply tell them to hold onto it for now as it will still be valid come Summer/Autumn 2013
