Hi everyone, i'm new to the forums.
As a Legacy member i remember reading somewhere that we get a free chocobo? :D


Other than that who here is getting FFXIV on PS3 or PC?

We'll get the PC client for free since we've already bought it, but we'd have to pay the PS3 version if we wanted that instead. I'll be sticking with the PC since I don't own a PS3, not that my wife would give me any TV time, even if I had LOL.

So many replies, thanks guys ! i feel welcomed already. Anyone who will be playing on the PS3 post your PSN. I got rid of my gaming PC :/ but i am tempted to buy another now that the release approaches. But i am really looking forward to playing it on the PS3, will there be any disadvantage ?


Where chocobos only rentable in the Ffxiv? As to where in version 2.0 we won't have to rent seeing as Legacy members recieve a free chocobo anyways? Will you be able to own more than one?

Sorry for all the noobish questions. I never played FFXI, FFXIV was my first.

You get a chocobo from doing the Grand Company quests, you got to name him. So Legacy players will have 2 chocobos in 2.0

(PC players will get addons, and if they have a better then ps3 computer better graphics, SE said they may port addons to the ps3 if they are really need to haves (probably means the PC would get a native version of that addon as well))

The only disadvantage to PS3 version is the possible delay in getting player made add-ons. On PC you can download and add them as soon as they are ready, but I guess SE would have to port over the add-ons (of their choice) to the PSN first.

In FFXIV you could both rent chocobos and eventually through the Grand Company quests, you could obtain and name your own personal chocobo. The rentals were a little slower in speed though, and had a timer on them. You can summon your personal (grand company) chocobo whenever, and for however long you wanted.

You can own more than one, we had the GC Chocobo and a Goobbue mount that was only available to obtain for a limited time. So the Legacy Chocobo would give some of us 3 mounts.
