"You Will Die" Difficulty... Can I Have It?

How is everyone!? I can't wait for the beta, can you?! I want to put a race car bed in my house ASAP! As well as try the new end-game content at launch!

That being said, I know there's going to be something akin to a "difficulty slider" on content, allowing you to either increase or decrease the difficulty of the content.

Now here is where my question comes into play:

Let's say my LS/Free Company/Race Car Bed Alliance has been doing end-game content for some time. We have become so seasoned at doing the current raids that even with the difficulty set to the highest level, I still feel the urge to watch Netflix while running said raid. Heck, not even the song "Danger Zone" can get me or my LS pumped up to do raids.

If people are still torching through content on the current highest difficulty setting, is there a possibility of the dev. team implementing something like a "You Will Die" difficulty setting between major patches to quench the thirst for a challenge from some groups of players? :cool:

If you want a difficult game, I think you'll have to look elsewhere. Not dissing it at all, but I think they're going in a different direction. Don't really see how a slider would work here either besides the options we get with leves and the like....but they don't really make it more difficult, just increase the level.

They already said they'll have player-adjustable difficulty.

Hard Mode would be awesome. Do want.

I would like certain areas full of ??? level aggressive monsters, each one like an HNM in strength. It could be a place filled with aether that have allowed animals to grow to amazing strength and take on a twisted appearance. They could drop mats for cursed gear or special materia

the dificulty of every countent will be adjusted almost every patch on popular demand, and if there's enough ppl aking for a more chalenging level of dificulty they'll add it

No harm in people asking for the option in order to keep things interesting. I would support this feature, though I probably wouldn't use it. Or I might, given the right LS and appropriate gear. As long as there's still the "normal" difficulty level first, like 1.0, and there are other difficulties between that and "this battle is so hard you might retroactively stop Bahamut from introducing the last Umbral era if you win".

If Darnus was considered hard, and you want a "You Will Die" mode. Will only .001% of the population complete it?
