Scared about ARR
Just read that Tera is going free to play in the US and EU, and people are commenting that they give ARR from 4 to 8 months after release to follow the same route as all the other MMO's the last years...
I fear for the mindset of the population, not about the quality of the game, that may force it's demise...

When FFXI will be Free to Play then you'll have a good reason to worry.
-
It's going to be a long fight, because... look @ Rift, ppl say they being F2P, are they F2P?
-
SE has a brand image uphold. I seriously doubt FFXIV will ever go F2P because going F2P indicates failure, which is very bad for the final fantasy brand. It's the reason why FFXIV was rebuilt to restore to try to restore that image of quality of the brand.

first world problems. once people are scared for video games, you know something in the world needs to change.
-
SE is too smart to make large scale projects f2p reasony ffxi never did plus if ppl enjoy a game enough theyd have no problem payin

Rift has been p2p from launch till now, well over 2 years.
FFXI has been p2p for over 10 years.
FFXIV 1.0 had a longer p2p window than "Tera" January 1st to November 1st.
I can't say i am worried...

Oh cool, something to do while i wait for ARR to launch ^^,
-
I'm worried because people may not be up to pay monthly for any other game that is not FFXI or WoW.

Any smart player will tell you that F2P is more expensive than P2P.
Go look on GW2... Currently 1/2 of the players agree that the company nerfs every single way of making money (and bans anyone who "exploits" any mistake the company makes), just because you can pay real money to convert it to game gold.
I hope FF14 never goes F2P
