Benchmark/Character Creator question

If the Beta Testing is going to start in Mid February, then should we be expecting the Benchmark and Character Creator release to be sometime before then, or during?

good question thats what I've been waiting for (obviously beta as well) cause they had said the 2nd benchmark would come out before hand with all races and genders.

Actually they said the static benchmark would be first, followed, much later, by the character creation tool. They made it sound like the tool would be released a few weeks before release.

Where did they say that? My understanding was they were both the same thing.

Yoshi commented on the benchmarks in a recent post (not sure if it was one of his 'letters' or a forum post relayed by Camate or another mod. here), IIRC he indicated that first one would have been ready by now, so maybe they still have 'issues' getting it performing adequately.
