Marauder feels like it misses all the time...

I am rank 21 mrd with a storm axe and 4 accuracy rings, decent gear for the rank and all melee stat allocation. I miss a LOT. Seems like 60% hit rate... takes 3 tries to get a battle regimen to land because I keep missing. I counted 7 misses in a row... not evades, just misses. We were fighting Migrating Does, the Pugilist was owning the mobs and I might as well have brought a wiffle ball bat.

Does it get better at higher ranks? I was asking my LS and a couple people said they stopped leveling MRD because they missed so much. I'm sure if it's true, it will get balanced later.... but this was bad.

Ya, MRD miss alot. If you want to miss less often at your rank, get a HQ weapon for improved acc and try some food. Here a good blog from lodestone:

It does get better, at rank 50 with good gear and 120 dex. I still miss but not nearly as much as my mid 20's where you can almost bet money on a miss. During NM's I use Still Precision and Hawk Eye to ensure BR weapon skills land. A THM to shoot you an absorb-acc also helps loads (Props to JoJo). Last NM hunt I went on I put Absorb ACC on my bar. With like 15 PIE I actually landed on Ureas 1 out of 4-5 times. A minor tweak could help but it shouldnt warrant abandoning the class if you really want to weild a big axe.

I am leveling a marauder to get trunksplitter two, before I played I thought you all just liked to complain, I had no idea. This is the most ridiculous thing in the would missing to much. most of their attacks are AOE, and yet with the current model of combat that help you none unless you want gimped sp/exp. The only place I could even think of maybe when most of the marauder skills would be useful would be a dungeon and a bunch of mobs come at the group and the marauder has to kill them all. This is by far one of my least favorite classes in 14. I am truly sorry about thinking you all complained about missing. I used to know what it was like to miss on everything playing a archer back before the November patch, if you guys missed even more back then and are still playing this class you are a inspiration to us all. Good luck guys you are going to need it.

Ditto! I love MRD! And heck, they're pirate...they have auto-eypatch where you become blind of one eye and also loses half of accuracy lol!

But now seriously...its not that bad. As you get higher it gets much better. Right now i feel like my accuracy at MRD is better than my accuracy as LNC and GLA (they both are midrank).

Same here,I'm lvlin Lnc atm and feel I miss more...MRD,LNC,PUG all have there strengths and weaknesses to me,but MRD FTW!!!

On average, Axes have the lowest to second lowest base accuracy when compared to appropriately ranked weapons from the other disciplines. the top competitor for the bottom is lancer. how ever they get a few more tricks in there bag to overcome the difficulty.

When i first started MRD i noticed that i missed often but as i ranked up i equipped 2 accuracy rings which changed everything for me! i was destroying EVERYTHING! but now that i have been destroying NMs i noticed i started missing again. SoOo i now have a macro set for hawk eye and raging strike for BRs and i eat a tuna cabob before every nm battle. As a result, i am back in full swing (no pun intended) and accurately hitting those fools!! so i suppose the moral of the story is with the right combination of stat rings and food, you can fix MOST of the problems with your character.
