I formated my PC afew days ago, and i cant do the first updates of the FFXIV 1.0 software. It freezes and doesnt download. Tryed uninstalling and re-instaling but nothing.
Anyone knows what's up and if i'm the only 1 with this problem?

Considering it's going offline soon wouldn't surprise me if the update server for 1.0 is offline lol atm.
I also had to reformat my drive (to remove Windows 8 and get back on Windows 7) not long ago. The servers had already been brought back up which was 10 days after the final event and shutdown. I had no problem getting the update to go and have been logging in from time to time to the V1.0 servers.
However, at this point, considering that the V1.0 servers will be shutdown forever in less than two weeks, and also there is hardly anyone logging in at all right now anyway, it may not be worth the effort.
But if you really want to still get it updated and login again a little bit, you might want to check to be sure your router has the UPnP setup that is needed to get the downloading done. I believe that is the thing that has stopped more people from successfully updating the game, especially on a big update such as just after a reinstall of the software.
Other than that, I don't have any ideas.
The update may take a few hours to get done (depending on how good a setup you have with your ISP), but as far as I know, it should still go. (The version check still happens even when it the software is already up to date, and it still works at this time.)

Had to re-format my PC (formatted it like 10 days ago tho...) but i guess it was an error bc of another thing i had installed...
Oh, and yea, i wanna spend the last day or two before it goes gone forever, because i have a feeling i wont like the new FFXIV as much at all, and wanna make some vids of the 1.x version.
Anyways, its my last post before Dec. 27th because i'm going somewhere to stay for the christmas and wont be taking my PC probably.
