The Mark of 1.0 [DEV Question]

I remember hearing they were going to give people who played in 1.0 some kind of identifying mark to symbolize they survived the End of an Era. Will this mark be available ONLY to characters created during 1.0 or is it something bound to our account and we can put on newly created characters in ARR?

I'm making a new character in ARR and was hoping I can have that "badge of honor" to signify (puts on his nerd glasses and speaks in the Simpsons fry guy voice) "i thought FF was cool before it was cool"

I hope, for the sake of future players, that the exclusive "I SURVIVED DEM ERAS" marking is just a huge wiener right in the middle of our foreheads! Make it account bound, so that every character we have/make will have it.

That way, we can feel special about playing a game when it was awful, and let everyone know we're a dick head at the same time!

Also, have the marking glow and make noise...so everyone around us always knows how special we truly are. Move over snowflakes...there's a new uniqueness in town.

I'm not sure why you would want people to know that you played in a turd puddle for two years.

Well even if it does turn out to be hideous, they've said we will be able to turn it off if we wish. Although I do hope and also believe that it won't be hideous.

Why not make it like Advent Children's Geostigma?
And then we can have an exclusive quest just to get rid of it (like a quest to find a Lifestream pool)

Also, I like the mark avalaible only to active 1.0 character

Lol, I guess you are ashamed of playing FFXIV for this long? I like to think of it as, We stuck by it and helped it evolve. It was just a curiosity question, is it account bound or character bound. I think it makes more sense to just be character bound.

But if tearing someone down makes you happy, feel free to have fun at my expense.

Goobbues and Legacy were confirmed to be account bound. There's your reward for playing 1.0.

Yes they were, thanks for mentioning it. Unfortunately it does not address my question. I'm not asking for a "reward", they have already said 1.0 players will get a mark that can be turned on or off signifying they were from 1.0. I'm pretty sure it will be a character bound thing but I cannot find any mention of it. Just looking for some clarification. Sorry that bothers people.
