So i read some threads about dedicated servers with certain rules on them and what not, so sorry if someone also came up with this idea in one of them i really only read the first post of each.
Does anyone else think it would be cool if like we had some kind of community-sever wide event or something where only 1 person or very few people could win and they would become a Judge(imagine ff tactics advance) and then set a rule or set of rules having a huge variety and variation to them for like a week or a few days...???
Or maybe have like have them set like a bunch of different rules for areas/dungeons stuff like that battle mechanics could really be anything.

Sounds cool, but if you think we have elitist pricks already, that would just put the icing on that cake. It would have to be available to everyone equally, level 1-cap and no real in game side effects, aside from purely social functions.

yea was thinking like anyone could become a judge for a few days to a week and they would just set a rule that could impact everyone equally good or bad.

i didn't play tera long enough but i think they have something like this, where people are in control of prices and shops and can be a dick or not. people can have him removed and stuff like that. political system i think it was called. i didn't get that far into the game i quit b4 making max level. didn't see myself enjoying that game long term and soon as i see this i can't find myself trying to play any more.
it can be fun idea though, they did also mention that we will have big summons? ones we can't use often and that they will be controlled by only one linkshell at one time. witch is kinda like this concept. though having ones more personal to an individual would be better. like warhammer they had banners but only a few could be picked to use them. and it doesn't make them as cool as knowing you can personally achieve it rather then being picked by others.
being able to control stuff in the world would be cool though, also on the battle side warhammer has 4players in the city raid at one part get chosen to become larger versions of themselves and everyone on other faction is trying to kill them first while they kill and protect us. if they can find a way to fit something like this in ffxi would be cool. call him a hero of sorts and he can be double the strength in content or pvp or something ...what have you. however it fits ffxiv. -

That would be pretty cool if they could do that in pvp, like a guild fight or something of the sort, where the guild leader has increased hp and you win by killing all members, or killing the leader :o that would be pretty cool. And although guild wars has guild wars, it's not really unheard of to have guilds fight each other, so it wouldn't be copying per-say.

TERA does indeed have this.
But it's easy to exploit. I'm kind of wary about giving any one or a handful of players on a server massive powers or abilities that let them control the gameplay of other players. -
