Alpha Video 5 - 3 sec GCD combat seems slow

After watching Alpha Video 5 and seeing the Dragoon battle Slugs, I noticed there was a 3 sec GDC. Combat seemed a little on the slow side. 3 sec is a long time to wait between attacks.

Using other MMOs as examples
SWTOR - 1.5 sec GCD
WOW - 1.5 sec GCD
Rift - 1 to 1.5 sec GCD

With ARR having a 3 sec GCD that is a lot of time where you are sitting there not pressing anything waiting for your GDC to come back up. Pushing a button every 3 sec seems rather slow when almost every other MMO out there has 1.5 sec or less GDC.

SE please lower the GCD on battle to make the combat faster and more enjoyable.

P.S. The guy in the video is also a clicker too, any serious guild would not allow clickers in their guild however he actually has time to hover over his next command due to long GCD.

What, do you want him to be put to death because he used the mouse? How would a new character know not to use the mouse as intended by the application?

Actually, from an advertising standpoint, although i'm not thrilled about it, i would expect the world is full of people like OP who will notice this. There's not exactly an explanation of it though save to those who are digging through these forums sufficiently. It would be probably better if said explanation provided here were made readily available on the website and easy to find.

battle mechanic is not finalized, heck maybe tomorrow something will be changed. let them questioning all they want, the matter is how it is when it launches.

Yes, better to let Yoshi P know now that the combat speed is a little too slow while the game is in alpha rather then further down the line where the speed may be more permenant.

From a business standpoint SE wants people who play other MMOs (SWTOR, Rift, WoW) to try out ARR. If they come over and see combat is twice as slow as their current game they won't want to stay.

TBH, they need to bring back auto atk and tp gain. I hate WoW/tera/aion/etc play style. It's mostly tank and spank. What i liked about 1.0 is the fact that you have to know how to play ur class/job. Sure anyone can just play a class/job, but to play it well is what made 1.0 great. ex: a tank who don't know how to dodge, dps who should be does crappy dmg, whm who can't heal, blm who use spells correctly, etc. Don't get me wrong i still wanna see 2.0 at launch, but so far, i'm not very thrill about the battle style.
