Create Your Own Quest!

Hello all!

Recently I was in the thread for the new ARR video: Quests and Battles.

Now people were complaining as people complain, but two interesting individuals, Denmo and Psykotsu, decided to make up short snippets of quests they thought would be fun (or something. I don't really know their motivations).

At any rate, I responded to the two of them with my own quest invention, detailed below. It isn't as extensive as I'd like to be for a quest concept but I am currently about to go to bed. I just wanted to start this thread for anyone else who wants to make up quests as if SE personally asked you to do so.

I like imaginative exercises! I hope someone else does, too!

Now, please note, my idea was inspired by Denmo's "Understudy Understudied!" quest idea, not the other way around:

"That's right! I don't even like white! It's time I marry proper - that is, marry my blade to the face of some beast! Oh - um - you - yes, you - the person I've been talking to this whole time - hello! - try this on for a moment..."
*FADE TO BLACK* *RUSTLING* *STRUGGLING* *A Cat's Meow of Pleasure*
"Aha! That's better! You look splendid, mi'lady."
You've acquired a Catty Clad Costume!
Objective: Your Groom Awaits!

IF SECOND OPTION, THEN:

"No, I - wait, huh? Oh, just leave me to my gnawing!"
*CANCELS QUEST* *SPEAK TO MIQO'TE AGAIN TO BEGIN*


[Admittedly I was inspired by your "Understudy Understudied!" quest (Like the name?) and yes this was way too long of an example. Also, I clearly don't know how Miqo'te speak. I'm sorry. I tried. I failed. I die now. Also, I am going to start a thread for this sort of thing. I think it would be cool if the quest is given by the groom if you're a male character but crossdressing is always fun!]

I did that already. It was in a videogame where I had to press buttons to do stuff.

Quest type: kiting
Purpose 1: bring mobs from one place to another
Purpose 2: Escape from a horde angry mobs

It could be used for ambush quests where you have to escape, or quest where YOU ambush the mobs and have to bring them to NPC for the main attack (tactics!).
You know, stuff like that.

Mainly a good survival exercise and running fun with a train of mob on your heels. Sweet.

I was thinking of something similar, perhaps a low level quest where an NPC sends you to somewhere in the field (to collect something, drop something off, w/e doesn't matter) where you have to travel through a bunch of aggressive mobs which aggro by sound/sight that you can't beat to complete the quest. Only way to complete the quest would be via dodging aggro and would serve as a tutorial quest of sorts of how to avoid/recognize how aggro works.

It would be nice to have guild quests that explore and practice different aspects of a particular class.

for example:

Gladiator Guild Quest - "Bombshelling" [Req GLD lvl 20]
NPC asks player to help test out a new shield for the guild. You are given a 'key item shield' (which enhances shield-bash stun) and are instructed to head to the arena where you are to practice blocking and shield-bashing vs a group of bomb-type mobs that will explode if not stunned regularly. At the end of the time limit, the special shield is returned and the player is given a reward based on how many bombs are still alive.

Bacon or not?
You must make or find the bacon before the npc turns you into bacon... its timed and cost you a death if you fail...oh yeah deadly quest lol

Create an "Impossible to win" quest.

Can we create herp derp quests?

Quest Name: The Falling Sky
Grand Company Quest
Difficulty: Very Hard
Reward:Something awesome

"You are transported to a Floating island (much like the one from "To kill a Raven") to investigate more about how the ancients had the power to create the Dalmud to entrap Bahamut. But the airship only can fly so high so it drops you off on said floating island where you have to jump from one little island up to another ascending upwards. But halfway up, a really nasty fiend appears and now you have to vanquish the foe. After doing such the beast lets out one final burst of power causing the floating island of stairs to crumble. Now you have to jump up to each new platform and slay the beast that awaits you in time before the platforms all crumble before you can get to the top. Once you make it to the top something great happens with a crazy cool cut scene of something.

This quest would utilize the new Jump function and the Sprint function of ARR with also epic time racing battles.
