ARR: 5760x1080/1200?

Any idea if there was thought into making the game triple screen compatible or optimized? It would be nice. I guess you could say that 1.0 was compatible, but not nearly optimized. Games that aren't optimized for it tend to have stretching 50% into the side monitors.

I have seen pictures of a wider than normal screen sized, but nothing to make me think it was actually multi-monitor.

Any thoughts?

I would def set up mult monotones if they optimized it where I could have a map up full time on one if I want and stuff like that

Yeah, that would probably be possible if it were just compatible like 1.0 and not optimized, you would still be able to move the map and resize it to the dimension, the problem would be that the game itself, the world, would be stretched. But if all you are looking for his do put your bags and menu on the right screen and map on the left, it should be fine.

I want to do that, but also want to experience of seeing the world in all its beauty in three screens.

This so much, the only game where I saw they provided an advantage to multi-screen users was supreme commander, and it was awesome.

I would love to be able to have the map, chats quest objectives and some other elements on my second screen while I keep the battle and combat UI in the main one. I would love SE so much more if they did, I think I may even buy stocks.

Probably won't happen though, like it took so much time for them to let FFXI in windowed mode, because "that won't be fair for all players". Still if we all can have access to the same information, but some just have it there permanently, does it really make a difference?

For certain situations I'd preferjust a non stretched view to expand my view. Moogleinc fight for instance was much better when I got my wide screen monitor so I could see more of what was going on around me.

And as long as you can size the map and move it then you will be able to view it on a side monitor.

I believe it's possible to run on multiple monitors, but the game isn't designed with it in mind, I would love ARR to make multiple monitors useful, like map on one (full time) chat on one and the game screen in the middle.

I couldn't agree more, I would love a non stretched screen. And it wouldn't even provide a significant advantage, it would just be nice, even with pvp.

Like I said in 1.0, it is possible, but it needs to be optimized/designed in mind in order to prevent stretching, and the new engine mixture might be designed like that. Multi monitor gaming is getting bigger, so it would be smart for SE to do this.

5870 or 6870? AMD allows for a lot of monitors, but it isn't really smart to load that many monitors as the GPU can't handle it under any sort of load. Which is why Nvidia limits it to 3 and 4 for the current generation. I would say 3 would be great for you, especially if FFXIV supports it! And, it really isn't that expensive to upgrade too, especially with the amount of productivity gained.
