We all get it. You don't like jumping. Let's discuss something else worthwhile now.

Every time I get on the lodestone, a select few people are making a point to post their hatred for Jumping every moment they can. (Another instance of the loud few appearing as though a majority are with them)

The devs are well aware of your complaints on jumping. I am sure they will be doing what they feel is right for the game.

Try putting that criticizm towards something else now that sincerely needs work for release so that we may all enjoy a better game.

More jumping complaining from the same people will hinder and overshadow more important issues to arise with gameplay.

Please don't let that happen.

Sadly, you have the other half of the community telling people to stfu about the legitimate issues or "it's only alpha"..despite Yoshida saying he wants even alpha to reflect the quality players expect/deserve.

Oh well when ARR flops wonder where and who they'll be telling to gtfo :D

But jumping is so unrealistic, I want to jump to make travel easier but enough to jump over anything is too high.

Here's what I get from your recent posts, "ARR will fail" "ARR is just the same as any other MMO" "FFXIV sucks" god change the damn record, I have barely seen any suggestions just an idea that it's going to fail for not standing out with no ideas how the game can stand out.

Sorry Mod, don't wanna derail your thread, but it had to be said.

I don't want others to talk about certain topic, instead of ignoring those threads I'll make a thread about how people shouldn't make them!

Cool. Another thread complaining about the threads complaining about jumping instead of keeping it all to one thread.

Jumping is fine. If they can make the animations smoother, that'd be great, but in no way is a priority. The height and everything mechanical about it is fine - besides they spent a good amount of time figuring out the height already (remember the lalafell jumping video?) and doubt they'll spend much more on it and they shouldn't honestly. It's fine.

As for any 'idea' of limiting jumps, I completely disagree. No more of these realism/immersion arguments please. Seriously. It's gotten to a sickening level.

As it stands, however, the jumping shown in these alpha videos are perfectly fine. I'm sure they can be made 'smoother', but it's an incredibly low priority at this point in my opinion - and I'm fairly confident Yoshi-P and the devs think the same.

I think all of the tension concerning this new version of a game we all enjoy is causing a few people to go a little nuts. Truth of the matter is, it'd be best if all players would think about what they say before coming here to post it. That is, we should be logically thinking of issues we believe they need to be working on for ARR, formulating theories on how to fix these problems and then posting here for the devs to see along with getting feedback from other players. Clearly most people just sort of post on a whim and don't think it out. That's probably why we can't keep the issue of "Jump" to a single thread apparently.

In a way you can't blame people though..or rather, you can understand to a degree. People tend to take MMO's a bit more seriously since they commit so much time to them. For some people adding jump is a really big deal, even if it seems insignificant on the whole. There's that and right now we can't play ARR and new information/screenshots is quite limited. Bitching is often people's way of keeping the flames alive.

How about those running animations?

Can we talk about those, or should we GTFO and go live under our adamatoises?
