The Void

So... Firstly:

I was never a super hardcore player of XIV.

I followed all news religiously though, so even though I never played it a huge amount, I was always immersed in the story, lore and mechanics. I would mostly log in to go speak to random NPC's, look around places, speak to friends and do casual crafting. I've always had a sub, because that's what I enjoy.

I only had one level 50 with this character, and my initial beta character was only level 30. I only kept him to retain my Asuran armbands and Onion helm.

However...

I've found myself... not knowing what to do. I have plenty of MMO's I could play, plenty of single player games I could immerse myself into, friends I could go out to meet and party's I could indulge myself in.

But i'm not.

since the final day and more importantly the final FMV I've felt a huge FFXIV shaped void, that nothing else fills.

For the first time ever, I actually feel like I'm in withdrawal from something. I don't know whether it's the psychological effect of not being able to log in, or whether I'm just really amped to get started after that awesome FMV.

Is anyone else going through XIV withdrawals, where nothing else seems to do?

Big time. Not sure what to do with myself anymore.

I was always under the opinion that I would never play XIV if the servers came back up, and I probably won't still.

I don't think the post Dalamud impact XIV will fill the void either.

I was surprised at this myself too Ingolf. I didn't play it much this month do to the data save. But now that its gone I don't want to play anything else. I really miss it. The epicness of that FMV makes you realize how much of an impact this game has on your life.

I have WoW, STO, PlanetSide 2, GW2, MWO, and RIFT installed and I don't want to play either... Just FFXIV :(

But yes, I do feel a sort of absence not being able to play. I think I'll just distract myself with schoolwork and other games til' 2.0.

Ah, see, I can't wait until 2.0. There'll be some things I miss about 1.xx for sure, but I'm dying for ARR. C'mon launch day.

XI doesn't fill this void at ALL.

I suggest Assassin's Creed 3 Multiplayer.

I am back to playing FFXI fulltime, I was working on finishing up voidwatch, getting my Maat cap (finally) and finishing my Emp weapon.. all of that was put on hold to get my FFXIV character set up for the server shutdown and to get Legacy.. I wanted to make sure I had an active character.. however my first MMO passive is FFXI.. I am hoping that ARR may change that, but we will see

Ahh, MMO-addiction strikes again!
