Error 30002
I have been getting this way too often as well, I was kicked from the server twice just now, the second time was immediately after I logged back in. It happens way too often, regardless of which PC I use. (I have 2)
Platform(s): 2 laptops, running windows 7 (64bit) 4-6 GB ram
ISP: Verizon DSL (before you ask, I've already looked into FiOS, and no it's not available in my area)
frequency: at least once a day, upwards of 5-6 times if I haven't given up.
char name: Uni Neko
Race: Seeker of the sun Miqo'te
class: r38 Archer
phys. lv: 48
area: Irrelevant, it happens EVERYWHERE
party or solo: both, often while in a levequest
Symptoms:
Usually happens between 9pm and 2 am est (the time I usually play) Game will just freeze without warning, often while the network status icon is still green. Always followed by the error 30002 screen, sometimes is accompanied by an error 30001, and sending me back to the title screen. On occasion, I will get the same error again almost immediately after logging back in, at which point, the game will not allow me to login for upwards of 20 minutes.
As I stated above, this happens way too often, and is not acceptable. If there is a solution to this problem, I would love to hear it. It might even help if we knew what the hell the error code actually means.

This has been a problem with quite a few people. Happens to me randomly on occasion as well. I've posted a couple of times about it, but the situation tends to be different for everyone.
The Mods will probably just end up telling you to check the knowledge base:
http://support.na.square-enix.com/fa...qtop&c=5&sc=39
I've noticed that tends to be their goto response for these issues, as I've yet to see an answer that involved anything other than them saying, "It's a problem on your end."
This thread from zam might help as well:

The problem for me just spontaneously resolved itself. I've heard of it randomly resolving for others as well. Some people have never gotten to the bottom of what the problem is and just ended up quitting. I hear that people with wireless internet connections tend to have more problems as well. Anyway, good luck!

Got that problem today, (30002)1303592655,12834163,5. Says "an error has occurred on the game server." What must be done to solve this? Kept losing connection every 10 minutes.
Vanguard319, did your dc's stopped after a while? Found anything?

This error code has also happen to me it will happen in 30-45 mins then take me back to the character selection screen and as I try to get back online it gives me a different error code and also says status 0. I look into solutions one of them being deleting the user folder cuz maybe some of the files in the user folder of ff xiv maybe corrupted another being that if you use wifi it will most likely kick you out . I try the deleting the user folder of ff xiv it didnt help but when i went back to connecting to my router via ethernet cable my problem was solve I have not gotten the error code for the past 2 days so hopefully it was the wifi issue .

I restarted my wifi too, and it worked out well after that. I guess the disconnect is just bc our internet speed wasn't really great just at that moment.
-
I also get this error, during about 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM (PST). It'll disconnect me within 5-10 minutes of logging in, every time. I know it's an issue relating to peak hours; if I am not playing in this time frame, it's perfectly fine. Problem is, it's a huge time frame for me not to be able to play. Also, my internet was perfectly fine before that, but I've tried the aforementioned steps anyway.
Hopefully this is fixed before we start having to pay. The problem is clearly not on our end.

FF14 is particularly picky about dropped packets. It can recover from dropped packets, but not well; which means if you are having any issues at all with speed (i.e., play during peak times) it can cause problems. I had similar problems while playing. The solution for me was to bypass my wireless and use wired. Other people have reported that upgrading to a more modern, high quality wireless router, solved the issue for them.
Now, when ATT freaks out (as it frequently does) FF14 is the only that that doesn't wig out. I've had DNS go down before, preventing me from doing anything in firefox since I don't know the IP addies of the web pages I visit, and Final Fantasy 14 clunked right along without an issue. This is actually a regular issue for me (ATT seems to be having issues after 8pm PST.)'
In any event, try wired, see if that helps if the other suggestions don't.

Meh, I'm having the same issue. I am on Mysidia server and I haven't been able to log in at all for days. That is EXCEPT if I use my vpn which leads me to believe that this most definitely is NOT a speed issue.
It worked fine up until about 4 days ago but since then I can't log in at all without the vpn.
I had another char on a different server and I could log in with that one fine.
Curious indeed...
