Macro Mapping to Gamepad and Buttons

I dont know if this has been suggested before. But it occurs to me that you could get much better response times in battle by mapping macros to the control pad and buttons a la' Skyrim, and each trigger could be a different set of macros. In FFXI i liked the ability to customize every little nuance in a macro, But it could take up to a second or two to toggle through them using a controller, which could make or break a skillchain etc.

Since ARR will be much faster pace i think this would help greatly instead of just pressing the trigger and cycling through macros.

Would anyone else like to see something like this?

Already possible for ARR. We'll be able to equip macros on our action bars, and the new game pad UI works with quick triggers via game pad combinations to select anything on your bar without cycling through.
