Drops and otherwise.

Ok, so, I'm just wondering... Bit of a random question here, but does anybody have any experience with their character being good at certain drop types, but not others?
It may be superstition, but I called myself as being 1/1 on Imperial operative Dalmatica and claimed Heavy Darklight Flanchard also 1/1 for an example of such things.
However, even at 195 perception I can't harvest +1 to save my life, nor get drops from mobs. And materia, don't even get me started on that. I can't get a double meld with teir 1 materia on a 41~ item most of the time...
Seems that I've been with my Character long enough to know when I'll get a drop, and what type of environment I have best luck in. I just wondered if anyone had any other experiences, and what triggers to such things there may be.

I went to www.random.org and rolled a number from 1~10,000 and got 4,978. I bet it'll take you forever to roll that number, so I must be predisposed to the number 4,978.

In short: No. This is how random systems work. Not saying that there's nothing affecting things, but I think you have a bad case of confirmation bias.
