[Idea]Tiers within tiers, lets simplify the Materia system.

Hello folks.

I don't have a huge wall of text to explain what I'm trying to get at since its a simple idea.

Currently we have four tiers of Materia, and four more for each one of those tiers, and I believe that it's just unnecessarily complicated, and in many cases the lower tiers are undesirable so what would you think if the secondary tiers were removed.

Example:

Currently:
Strength Materia I 4 tiers: +1, +2, +3, +5
Strength Materia II 4 tiers: +6, +7, +8, +10
Strength Materia III 4 tiers: +11, +12, +13, +15
Strength Materia IV 4 tiers: +16, +17, +18, +20

What if it was changed to:
Strength Materia I 1 tier: +5
Strength Materia II 1 tier: +10
Strength Materia III 1 tier: +15
Strength Materia IV 1 tier: +20

(I used the highest tiers as an example to make T1/T2 look more useful)

What do you guys think?

i like that idea. i was just sorting through materia this morning and it was like omg.. look at all this CRAP.

Yeah, that's a change that people have talked about in the past and I would certainly like to see implemented, if only for the extra inventory space it would create (since it would become a lot easier to stack materia). This seems especially important now that we're going into ARR and the inventory reduction that comes with it.

The only real issue with Materia is inventory space.

If that gets fixed in ARR, Materia will be fine as-is.

This. And the clutter problem would be saved if SE would just implement a Materia tab, but apparently that idea was considered, but deemed uncessary. (need sauce. too lazy. someone do it for me).

I'm happy with these numbers too.

I don't disagree that materia can potentially eat up a lot of storage space, but most people I know only keep the specific few they're looking for and pawn/toss the rest.

That being said, a materia bag (if they put in bags) would be a welcome addition. Outside of that, materia is mostly a well builtsystem that i don't think should be tampered with too mucH (though I guess it's going to be nerfed a bit)
