Sorry if this is a noob question however I just recently began melding gear on my 50 WAR and as I do not have a craft leveled high enough to do it myself I need to request melds be done. My question is how do I go about requesting a second materia be slotted? Whenever I try on any piece of gear I get told that it is already materia enhanced and it will not let me make the request. Any help would be much appreciated as I have yet to find a direct answer to my question online.
You can't request it, if you want more than one meld you will have to either level that craft or ask a friend to do it for you.
Materia melding requests will only allow you to do single melds. The reason being that singles are a 100% success rate while double and up are significantly lower rates of success. Your best bet is to shout in uldah or ask your ls mates. Most crafters will take you up on the offer for free, although some might charge you.
If you're looking for the logistics of how, you'll need to trade the item, materia, and catalyst to another player to have them attempt the meld.
**Also, don't be upset when the item breaks. Double meld chance of success is usually < 25%.
