[DEV] Collectibles and Furniture Suggestions in 2.0

Was talking with my LS the other day and there were a lot of cool ideas brought up that would be awesome in my opinion.

Collectibles are fun, and FFXIV doesn't have very many.

#1 Collectible books of Lore - It would be fun to be able to collect books about the games lore that you could go back and read at your leisure. It would even be more awesome if there was a bookshelf in your house dedicated to this, and that each time you collected another book, or completed certain content you'd get a collectible book. (I suppose its kind of like the Inn journal now, but this would be more involved explanations of lore, not just collection of cutscenes, maybe could even have a scrap book / news section and could include the "articles" written by the NPC's that you only currently have access to outside of the game on the lodestone).


Archive system for old items - sometimes items (weapons and armor) are sentimental and even though you get something better, its hard to part with those items.

#2 Weapon Rack for your house. What if you could have an actual piece of furniture, that would "mount" to a wall in your house, and would maybe hold 20 weapons total, and 5 of them would actually display on it. You could also put some limits on to being able to remove these things. Also might make more of a reason for crafters to make certain items.

#3 The Closet - What if in your house you had a closet with a mannequin. You could set it up say 10-20 armor sets (of stuff that isn't on your character). When you click on the mannequin, select the set you want to view, and it would display on your mannequin. I would love this feature to remember some of my earlier armor sets that have no further use to me, but are sentimental because they represent the times in which I wore them.

#4 Trophy or achievement pieces (I think I actually just saw today that they were thinking of maybe adding this for Free Companies, but it would be great as an individual level as well.

I really like the first idea. WoW had little hidden books all over the place in towns and dungeons and that was the only place you could read them. It'd be nice if there were books about the world of Hydaelyn that you could place in your house for going back and reading.

Not saying the other ideas are bad or anything, they're just something I'd expect to be implemented at some point in some fashion or another. I really want to see the first idea come into fruition though.

Just to add, I liked how each furniture had bonuses in FF11. I like to fish, so I hope there'll be furniture again that boosts your fishing skill and whatnot.
