Dated Recipes: Craft 'Em While You Can! (Wool Fix Needed!)

So they're removing all the dated recipes. This means no more super-cheap & easy leveling of Alchemist & Culinarian sadly :(



Also, I'd just like to point out to the Devs that we need a fix for wool. Currently, it takes karakul fleece (which is fine) + fleece, which is a dated recipe using sheepskin.

So even though the recipe to make woolen yarn, along with items that use it as a component aren't dated themselves, we will in fact lose the ability to make the yarn altogether. This is a problem.

I'm pretty sure they realize this and will unlikely do anything about it in 1.0 since it goes off in a month.

I'm sure 2.0 will come with new recipes and easier ways of leveling crafts, seeing they did this for DOM and DOW

....I don't understand people who go out of their way to make items that are not even remotely useful and are being phased out.

There will be new recipes and new ways to bridge the gap. Be calm and wait for 2.0.

It's due to the way you power through crafts. If it has a use or not, it's the level (around 39 or 40?) which you can blow through starting at 30 which I believe is also the easiest one to do and has a use for for quite a lot of stuff after your leveling.

Pretty sure every thing woolen yarn is used for is useful, unless you were talking in general.

Thats not what I meant. Obviously that makes sense... It's people complaining about dated items being gone that confuses me.

Do people really believe that SE won't have new recipes available for players to skill up on?

The words in the original post "super cheap" and "easy" are sort of telling. People get worked up about it not being as easy as it once was, to which I really have absolutely no sympathy at all. Heaven forbid it is a challenging process.

As for people really believing SE won't deliver, I think most people just get worked up in their heads about things and therefor don't stop to think about the situation. Of course SE is going to implement something to bridge the gap in a situation like this... but will it be quite so easy and/or cheap as the existing recipes? I have no idea to be honest, but I trust it will be as balanced as they can make it (which may not, in fact, mean "cheap and easy", but we shall see)

How does the removal of dated recipes affect Culinarian and Alchemist, the 2 crafts that don't use/make dated items? What am I missing?

You can get it not only from this recipe. They exist also as monster drop (from a very rare sheep in La Noscea. Wild Ewe I think) and leve reward.
Ok, not longer from leves, as they changed the reward from fleece to woolen yarn. But they can still give us the fleece from a new recipe, monster drop or new leve rewards.
