Am I the only one who thinks the Hildebrand stuff is stupid?

I've heard a lot about Hildebrand and how it's supposed to be hilarious, and although I can see why other people think that he's funny because he's silly and all, I sometimes feel like I'm the only one that thinks he's stupid and kinda retarded...

I know that some people might say "If you don't like it then don't do the quests" and that's perfectly valid. It's just that multiple podcasts that I listen to have talked over and over again how you'll laugh your ass off from the new quests, and I personally don't really see how it's all that funny. Not to mention the semi "cult" following if you will of people who love Hildebrand, I mean, he even has a twitter account named after him. I just have like "Uhh.... Okay...." or a "Are you ****ing serious..." kind of reaction.

So what do you guys think? Am I seriously the only one that finds his character stupid and kind of meaningless?

Of course is stupid. It's a comical character. What you could expect ?

It's because he's stupid that he's hilarious.

Hildebrand, his partner, and the situations they end up in, are meant to be light hearted, comic relief.

I think you're just thinking too hard/seriously about it. But to each their own. :)

The japanese have a quirky sense of humour which tends to differ from western humour.

Having said that I personally don't like the character, as I find predictable plots and cheeseyness severely uninspired / lacking in creativity.

But say what you will, hes memorable amongst a sea of forgetable npcs.

I thought he was funny, until he got Nael Van Darnus's gunspear. Then I was like


GTFO! NAO!!!

Because I wanted the spear.. lol
