Copyright Infringment in Design Contest!

Ring number 5 in the design a gear contest, is a blantant copy not only in concept but in execution, where symmetry is not entierely Identycal the general concept stands, the design ripped off the five feather points from the one winged angel ring the generall form of the ring is there as well as the center gem piece, texture and silver coating is the same as well in a contest where creativity is being rewarded i think finalist entries such as this only hurt the credibility and seriousness of it, and the worst thing is the design of SE.

I see no issues with any of the designs, nor do I see the copyright infringment your bemoaning.

#5 is a FF ring anyway (kinda suck if they win, since it's no original work)

#6, it could be copyright infringement. The design doesn't belong to Square and most likely not to the player who submitted it.

The three rings together is not really a copy right - its more of a wheel kind of deal. You can get that three ring design anywhere - quality of craft is a different story. Though comparing it to the other rings you may say the shape design wasn't as original, I still think it looks cool.

Also wouldn't call it copy right.

I don't know, never really shopped for rings.

Anyway, it's still not original work..

Kinda make me upset, concidering my friend submitted something that was way better than some of these designs, but it looks like that since the drawing wasn't done in Photoshop or some 3D application, she didn't get selected. =_=

Actually think that's a big downer on both these competitions. We've had professional adobe/3d renders and almost studio mic room submissions, leaves the normal person behind.

Not to be too negative though as most of those people probably had more skill then most of us.

I don't know if I'm just blind or what, I am not seeing any 'copy'- they all look completely different as far as I or perhaps a civil court is concerned.

I know, but still, in both case they said "high quality" wasn't important. (Laptop mic was ok, and hand-drawn stuff was ok too)

What is it with people trying to shine a bad light on the community events these passed few days?

These events are one of the only good things about this forum. Let's not destroy one of the only positive parts of the forum ok kids?
