Anyone else miss sneak/invis?

Went exploring earlier. What I was trying to get to:

don't think the problem is the sneak ability but that high levels monsters locations in blackshroud is awfull

Not really, no. Having to pay good money and lug around a bunch of sneak and invis items was kind of annoying.

The real problem is they won't change the fact mobs over a certain range will hit for more than twice your max HP, it would be manageable otherwise.

It was a low level synth and also existed as spells and a job ability called spectral jig, a job pretty much everyone subbed, but you likely didn't play XI at that point.

Well inv/sneak was a must back in xi cause all mobs outrun you and almost all mov speed gear drop on endgame stuff. But here you have unlimited chocobo and you can outrun most mobs just by running.

So there is not really need for them right now, but boy i really miss xi in general.

I was referring to the spells actually, though I wouldn't mind the items either. I'm not gonna complain about monster levels or locations, I knew I was heading into rough territory when I rode passed the first level 79 critter. But for the sake of curiousity I forged ahead. Just wishful thinking I guess, that some day they might add a safe way to work through that type of situation.

Edit: I was mounted when I ate that ~8K hit from the Guivre, for the record.

While as a mage class and an alchemist I miss them but I don't really think they are needed. High level mobs are working as intended in my opinion. Once you know how things aggro it is usually more of a test of patience to get past them.

I miss a lot of things about FFXI. Like the job system for example.

Since everybody had it, it was kind of pointless to have in the game. I honestly like how you can't just sneak by all the enemies in a dungeon anymore, it makes it feel more like older FF games.

No. Sneak and invis mechanics were terrible.
