How will the Chocobo Battle System work?

That's what i am wondering about.. like yoshida said, you'll be able to call your chocobo to fight alongside with you.

But what prevents you from using the chocobo every time for a fight? I am imagining a group of 8 people in an instance having 8 chocobos to their side. It'd be fine with a new class like a "chocobo knight", but really every class/job can call them?


anyone else who is disturbed by that imagination? ;XD

Maybe unusable in a party/dungeon?

you can't call 8 chocobos in a full party, a chocobo take a party member slot. Unless you're doing an alliance

well then we will see hundreds of solo players with a chocobo fighting on the outside, instead of playing only their job? you have to imagine that. because players will chose the most easiest way.

well for what do i need a wyvern as Dragoon, when i can have a chocobo? ;XD

seriously i'd prefer a job called "chocobo knight" (coming from the lancer class) much more then. although i dont like the idea of a chocobo fight at all...

well maybe the choco will consume some exp as well? who knows. that would be one good step to prevent people of having their choco out everytime. that would be gross.

Idk if youve played ffxi but i have a strong feeling it will. E a mix between the adventuring fellow system and the ffvii choco breeding.

I remember reading somewhere that the chocobo AI or whatnot will function like the Gambit system from FF12.
