Some Advice Please.

Hello everyone, I have been playing FFXIV for about a week now (on and off), and I would like to know where I can exp grind to 50? I have accumulated knowledge about the games basics, like how to find new gear, traveling, Anima, ect.

I am a FFXI veteran (retired years ago) so I'm familiar with the concept of grinding. I have a Marauder with heal/protect available, and I am level 24.

Hi and welcome to FFXIV.

If you like to play solo, then doing leves and behests are good ways of grinding. Otherwise you can try to find areas where there are monsters a few levels above you and grind there.

Going with a party (it doesn't need to be a full 8-person party) to a monster camp would be a much faster way since you can get a lot more from EXP chains (i.e. dispatching the monsters quickly before the link timer runs out).

Try to keep your "Well fed" status up by eating any sort of food. It's just a 3% bonus, but that adds up over time.

Some grinding spots that come to mind are (level ranges are approximate):

Lv 25~ Opo-Opos in a clearing a bit north of Camp Tranquil

Lv 30~ Buzzards around Cedarwood

Lv 35~ Ixali southwest of Camp Glory

Lv 38~ Raptors around Camp Iron Lake

Lv 44~ Natalan or Zaharak

Camp Tranquil is in the southernmost Camp in the Black Shroud (the forest region with Gridania). The clearing with the Opo-opo's is at around x37 y46 (if the map I'm looking at is correct).

Cedarwood is in eastern La Noscea (the region with Limsa Lominsa) at x31 y30. There are 3 areas with buzzards: 1 is just north of the camp (lowest level), another 2 are southwest with higher level buzzards.

Camp Glory is in the southeast of Coerthas, the mountain region that is accessible if you travel all the way west through the Black Shroud. It should be relatively safe to get there as long as you stay on the road. There are sometimes a few aggressive monsters along the way to watch out for, though.

Iron Lake is in the far north of La Noscea. It's easier to get there from Camp Bloodshore than from Skull Valley if you are at a lower level. You do need to watch out for patches of aggressive monsters along the way.

Natalan is the Ixali stronghold that is southeast of Camp Dragonhead, which in turn is northwest of Camp Glory (mentioned above).

Zaharak is the Amalj'aa stronghold and is east of Camp Broken Water in the southeast of Thanalan (the desert region with Ul'dah).
