Why they cant let the Tanks actually tank the bosses and not just Kite them around like in SKY where tanks only can kite Kirin, and now same thing happens for FFXIV bosses

Which bosses are you talkling about? While there are a few bosses that are kitted (hamlet, moogle, some job quests), most bosses are straight tanked, including pretty much every dungeon boss, every other primal, every regular notorious monsters, the final boss, etc, etc.
Nowhere near as "bad" as you make it to be.
I'm not sure what you mean. Ifrit Garuda, Batraal, Danus... Most of the bosses in the game I've fought were all straight tanked. The only content I've seen kiting on has been on AF bosses, and thats usually if there's more than one mob to be fought. Even then, someone is straight tanking whatever is being fought. I don't see the tank role going anywhere. Stop being silly :3
What they said
THere are few times you need to kite to be effective alogn with straight fighting, such as Guruda when the tank kites it during winds (outside wind) to avoid smaller funnels.
For one dungeon the tank aggro drags so party can get to key areas.
Most is still straight tanking. Kitign only durign specific aspects.
I'm sure World of Fantasy will have a wide variety of Bossfights.
Yet another useless thread that wont matter for another few years brought to you by mizukage
Actually, I think I got it. Someone made mizukage just to troll the forums.
Checking her levels gives you only lvl1 miner, and she managed to make so many posts in just a few days.
I smell Rokien clone.
It could be that he is mistaking or lumping together moving out of the way of certain dangerous boss moves with kiting?
If that is in fact what he means, then yes I'd have to agree. I gave up tanking in this game becuase It makes me feel useless. Call me old school or stuck in the past, but I'd prefer a tank class that can just sit there and take whatever is thrown at it. Use powerful enchantments and protection abilities to just eat a lot of the damage, with out the need to move out of the way for things like coincounter and chimera. Now, Im not saying that a fast paced evasion tank couldnt do that. But for the love of the Tweleve, why should my PLD have to move like a sissy?
It doesnt help that SE likes to use a lot of AoE and environmental damage and hate reset that I cant protect my party from regardless of whether or not I have hate. Further diminishing my feeling of worth as a Tank. I guess it wouldnt be so bad if SE didnt constantly have the bosses spam these abilities durring a fight, but they do and I think its overboard and overkill.
For these reasons, come 2.0 Ill be looking for a new class to play as a melee dps. I dont think what SE is doing is strictly wrong per se, but it doesnt match up with my expectation of what a tank should be capable of or the playstyle I'd prefer. If I'm going to have to "dance" around the battlefield anyway I might as well be a melee dps. Some of you might disagree with me on this, but its not a right or wrong issue really, its a personal preference. I suppose this is what comes of trying to make battles more fast paced and dynamic feeling?
Now if they made a ninja style tank, I wouldnt play that class, but I could get on board with it having to doge out of the way in conjunction with using evasion abilities. They wouldnt have the HPs and Def and rugged ability to take a hit that say a Pld should, so that makes sense. But letting something as awesome as PLD fall to one 100 ton from Coincounter? Oh, how they mighty have fallen..... bad form SE, bad form.
Just to reiterate: this isnt a "pld cant tank" argument, its a "I dont like the way tanking on PLD works" argument. Which is strictly my opinion. I understand plenty of people like it the way it is and its doubtful SE has any plans to change it. And so I'll pick a melee dps class to master, until such time they come out with a stealth/assassin class/job.
are we really taking the opinions on endgame of someone with level 2 pug and level 1 miner seriously?
Kiting IS a way of tanking.
