Quests in A Realm Reborn

In addition to the currently existing kinds of quests, in A Realm Reborn we are looking into adding quests that appear regularly in the field. We are also considering quests that begin when you discover or pick-up a mysterious item, but the implementation timing for this is still being discussed.

Don't we already have similar quests in 1.0?
Appear in the field: Garlean invasion
pick-up a mysterious item: the last two Hildibrand quests

So, this will continue in ARR? :D

Yeah, but I think they are confirming it will be in ARR ( and not just Garlean Invasions) =)

Any quest where a random rock starts talking to me and sends me off on an adventure is ace in my book!

As long as that item doesn't take up space in my invo after accepting the quest. This was rather annoying in WoW.

If this is the case, lol. I really hope that there is more meaning in which we obtain the ruby. Like killing astral spirits rather than leeches if you catch my drift. Ugh I remember farming for that damn thing. However it was kinda cool. When I was playing and fighting leeches on my own a Japanese player decided to help me out. Right when he joined my party I think we killed like two leeches and I obtained the ruby.

This is great news. It seems to me like the industry as a whole is moving towards things like this lately, and its nice to see ARR will be doing stuff like this.
