New Tank - in Evercold

Sense this expansion is norse mythology i strong believe that are new tank or ranged dps will use "runes" in there kit

I also prodect that weapon would be warhammer/sheild very norse like. armor have fur shoulders to handle the harsh cold. combat differs greatly then that at then warrior

probably see a tank that uses thunder magics like thor, rather then being physical tank this take in full on magical or magical knight like


every new job they released it fit the new job of theme of expansion. when they advertising this expansion they used norse letters in its advert

Ranged dps is 100% believe its a crossbow we do not have a sniper like job id be interested too see how they make sniper like ranged dps work in a game that demands movement. in norse mythology they had skilled bow users and hunters. anyone read the tales of fenrir

as much as people what pirate or what corsiar it does not share the theme of this expansion so highly unlikely

I can see the new tank fitting the expansion theme. Maybe Rune Knight but wielding a hammer. I'm hoping the new ranged isn't a crossbow. Often times, the new jobs can be from regions we have yet to explore but will in the future (GNB - Garlemald, DNC - Thavanir). Hoping the new ranged hails from Merycidia and wields either a giant boomerang or a bliztball.

Alright here's my insane theory: It's Wand + Shield

Let's consider Yoshi-P's "Shirt tease." While it is Rhitahyn Sas Arvina on the shirt, in the past we've also had situations like a Spider-Man shirt for Samurai because "Sam Raimi made the Spider-Man films." So we can't just always take it at face value.

So I want to focus on what it says: "Guess who's back?" Back in the 1.0 version of the game, there was a form of play that some jobs could engage in which they no longer can. That being that Thaumaturge and Conjurer, and by extension Black Mage and White Mage, could both engaging in being "tanks" by equipping a one-handed arm and a shield. This allowed them higher defense, and in a way take on a Tank role. This is made more evident when we consider that 1.0 also had the Cross-Class Skill system, which meant that our two casters could gain access to Provoke and other skills from Gladiator and Marauder.

Of course that's been gone since 2.0. Yes you can still technically do it now, equipping gear that caps out at Level 50, but let's be real you're not going to. And that's understandable.

So who is back? Wand + Shield Tank. A proper Magic Tank, a Tank who casts spells, a Tank who brings mastery of magic to the forefront.

And why are they back? Because I am a Level 100 Goldsmith and I desperately want a Tank job that uses Goldsmithing for their weapons.

If we're going to have a magic tank, I'd prefer their weapons to be wrist bangles and have mystic attacks/shields opposed to having an actual weapon and shield. The bangles could have glyph-like animations for ultimate and relic weapons.

It is worth noting that the Gunblade is originally a Bozjian weapon that far predates the Garlean Empire and in fact was used against the Allagan Empire. Honestly that would be kind of cool. I could see that working the same way some Monk weapons work, replacing the gloves you're wearing and then summoning magical looking weaponry.

Yoshi P's shirt is hinting at something themed to Garlemald, I believe. I think people are taking "two shields" too literally and the new tank job I feel has to be using a giant warhammer. And not just any kind of hammer. One that can be placed and extended out into a mega shield for the ultimate protection on the tank and party. So in a way, this would be your "barrier" tank. I think the job is gonna be more techy like GNB to be honest. We don't have a tank that can deploy structures defensively yet. Hell, let it be able to build constructs that help defensively as well.

Personally I'd love a Giant Shield+GunCannon Lance combo. Would be a pretty unique combination for the series.

Shield and Hammer with a thor inspired theme
