I'm curious to see how it'll differ with Dancer, what will change or be replaced to condense it down.
I'm excited for it either way!
(also didn't see a post so sorry if there already was one about this)

The four dance button will turned into two button, one for each buff. This will mean that players can not a mistake.
I really don't know how they'll do this.
I mean conceptually it'd be simple enough, right? 120s buff window is a goner, so we'll just need Standard Step. Four other buttons can turn into the four step buttons for it (we already know from Viper who is basically the DW-evolved-mode-test-class that this four-in-a-row replacement is something they like). That part would be easy. Another button for selecting dance partner.
Since DRG and BRD showed them leaning into a key aspect of the fantasy behind the job more, I'm somewhat hoping they'll keep Tillana and Starfall Dance around, but turn both of them into dance-steps-triggered abilities where the potency scales with the number of correct steps. That'd lean hard into the class fantasy tbh. More dances!
I imagine the Aoe combo will get removed and Fan Dance will probably consolidated to just one action that has AoE cleave.
Most of the rest of DNC's kit already has cleave.
As far as the actual Dance Partner I can't really see them doing anything other than it just being like a permanent damage buff to the partner unless DNC is going to come up really high in personal damage via the Dance Partner giving you gauge or procs.
Given that it seems they are leaning towards more active play in Evolved, I don't think it's out of the question that Dance Partner be given a more active use instead of a thing that you either set&forget or struggle with the current clunk in trying to switch partners. Being able to not only switch partners easier but be given a reason to do would be quite nice.
I do agree we'll basically see all of the AOE and single target only skills get consolidated, whether that be through everything being made AOE or through some sort of context sensitive behind the scenes game logic that selects which one to use when. Either way, no actually splits between single/AOE actions anymore on the player side.
I don't think the Dance Steps will go away but I could see maybe pulsing out damage with each step instead of just waiting for the final step to pay off in damage. I also think that I could see En Avant either gaining damage on passing through an enemy or gaining the post use PvP style buff it has there, and I think I'd like that as it would encourage more active and thoughtful use of the skill instead of just holding it until you "need" it.
Really don't know what they're going to do with the buffs though, and that's the part that has me most curious.
Oh that's a good point, yeah it seems AoE moves are a goner (good riddance, as the game utilizes no mezz spells there's no need to not deal AoE damage anyways), and yeah I could also see Closed being a temporary move so there's more active play involved in dancing.
I kinda hope they lean harder into coinflip procs, insofar that I want them to actively mess up rotational flow, but that depends most on how the overall kit is shaped.
