Free Upgrade for 2.0?

I was just browsing Eorzeapedia and came across this article that states:

"With current players of the game being offered a free upgrade to the 2.0 client. . ."

So this means that the current userbase will not have to buy a copy of FFXIV: ARR, correct? I have not heard this before and was planning on pre-ordering my copy soon. What have you guys heard?

We don't have to rebuy the game. That's confirmed. We'll get the A Realm Reborn files through an update.

Yes, is a bit way back, in old source (interviews) or maybe at lodestone (sorry can't remember which exact source, but its legit) that we who are/has active or registered game of FFXIV do not need to buy the game, we are given a free via Download of the game... .

It's in the road map as well somewhere I believe

We will get a free upgrade via a digital download, I don't believe it will be via the FFXIV patcher but a full download from lodestone because it is a completely new game.

I would love to update to the PS3 version. Is anything like that in the works?

No, you still need to buy the PS3 version separately (of course you ca use your PC acc with it)
