/numbergenerator on?
ok. the crafting system in this game is by far my favorite lottery game ever.
i love the gamble. i love taking the expensive materia
taking a cool hat, and trying to put squares into circles!
i love the 1% chance. dead serious.
but i was thinking maybe if a dev and the players were into it. how about something like showing us a lottery number generator on the screen. like the old pinball machines hoping for a free spin. ya know. give us a rolling number on the screen. so instead of hoping for this hidden number to pop out and give us our 1% success, or 25% double melding.. so when we see the number stop in the wrong place.
maybe im crazy, but i figured id throw that out to the community

So... basically just convert the animation of failing into a mathematical equation that says no?
-
I wouldn't mind actually. It'd be cool if it appeared over the melder's head so everyone around him/her knew what was about to happen and congratulate/comfort them afterwards.
-
-
knowing that the outcome is determined from when you start the meld/roulette spin doesn't help...
-
no it doesnt help in any way, its more of a vanity request. id just like to see it. i mean if its gonna fail, at least show me the odds. 25% chance of success, ok, can i see the numbers that are used in calculating the outcome? rather than just blindly waiting for the outcome.
its nothing for gameplay but really just to look at. if you play the lottery, you pick numbers, and the numbers that come up will determine whether or not you win. i feel the materia and HQ system in this game are the same way. if the numbers match yours, you win. i just want to see them, rather than behind this invisible mask that just lets us blindly press on

I agree The human brain is always looking for patterns in the randomness. I say, show us the lucky #s and let the superstitions begin! I'm curious about what bizarre nonsense people will come up with. :)
-
This is actually a great idea. Maybe like a visual roulette spin.
-
hasty hand does this, but once you hit the synths level or higher its 100% success.
-
Well, since no one has argued against this, I'll do it. No thanks, I think this idea is unnecessary and a waste of any development efforts, no matter how small.
