I haven't played for a month and I am thinking of canceling my script so I can purchase content in other games. Will my legacy status be affected? I am planing to play ARR so I just want to be 100% sure I won't get screwed.

Once you qualify for legacy, your account is Legacy forevar. I subbed my 2nd account up to Legacy then unsubbed
