Travelling: paying vs. aetherytes

I'm by now at main story quest The Game is Afoot with my main.

Since quite a while, the msq makes me do numerous back and forth between places all over the world. At first, I was trying to keep using "cheap" travelling methods, but it became tedious to me. So by now, I travel straight from aetheryte to aetheryte. It's crazy expensive (vs. my earnings).

My question: Once so far in the game, is it the way to go? Straight from A-to-A although it's expensive? Or are you still investing time to travel via PCs/Airships/Ferries and co?

I use airships/ferries for roleplaying reasons.

If I've already done that quest before or doing it on an alt, I just teleport everywhere.

I teleport for free because I get Aetheryte Tickets in exchange for Allied Seals and Centurio Seals, which allow me to teleport for free. These seals are obtained from fight hunts in ARR, Heavensward and Stormblood areas.

Ive been known to pick a mount(usually one of my motorcycles) and just ride it from zone to zone to get where im going. No flying, just riding the trails. But this is when im in the mood. If im doing a quest, its aetheryte aetheryte aetheryte and i use those free teleport tickets for any jump that costs more then like 300 gil(theres a setting on the teleport menu to automate this). Just doing the 3 weekly B ranks from ARR/HW/StB is worth approx 60 free teleports, and you have the daily hunt options to add more if you need them. If you play BLU, thats actually the best source of these seals. The 3 weekly carnivale targets are worth close to twice what the 3 weekly B ranks are worth. Side bonus, doing these hunts(and potentially the carnivale) you also get 5k+ gil per as well. So free teleports plus the gil to pay for a few more as well.
