With Glam Restrictions lifted, next step: Animations

Let us use the Paladin Male idle pose, the Dark Knight Male idle pose, or let us swap from the running/walking animation to that of a different race, or anything in the same vein.
Embrace customization and making our WoL exactly the way we want!
It's the next logical step :)

(Bonus points if they add animation/vfx overrides as cosmetic rewards in the future!)

Personally, I like race/gender locked animations. It give the world more flavor. The different animations are what make mi'qote mi'qote, rather than just hyurs with cat ears, etc. And yes, sometimes I'm envious of other peoples poses and such, but that's just how it is sometimes. Not everything needs to be accessible to everyone at the same time.

Easy to say for people who like hyper fem animations. Currently all of the short fem races are incredibly dainty and ditzy. Fem middies are particularly bad about this to the point that it's a big reason people will not play a specific race/gender combo.

If it's such a big deal, make it a client-side thing only visible to the player, with the way the game is set up that would be incredibly easy to do. And if I may say so it only adds to the flavor of the game.

Let people who want to play big male characters have the fem run animations and vise versa. It would add such vibrancy to seeing other people moving around the game and add some personality to their avatars. Just like in real life not all people of a certain gender or ethnicity act, move or sound the same.

I support this idea, but I know SE will never do it since it would mean re-rigging all the talls, hroth, and lala animations to be interchangeable, and they will never do this since it's alot of effort for no money.

Not only that, it's also issue for animation/rigging. I rather they focus on issues more important than this.

I agree that the gender locked weapon idle poses should definitely be unlocked, but hard disagree on the racial animations. There's barely anything making races unique to begin with. Let them keep their identity.

No. Every race needs the Male lalafell animation for /playdead. For reasons.

Let me have Viera animations on an Au Ra and I'll never need another fantasia again.

Well, unless they later also let me have Viera height on an Au Ra. Let me be a giant lizard lady.

That too. Some animations for some races could probably be interchangeable, but hardly all. Especially for the bigger and smaller races.

And even if you could do a 1 for 1 translation of every animation, you wouldn't necessarily want to. For example, many lalafell animations are designed around the fact that they're so short. Swinging your legs while sitting in a chair, because your feet don't reach the floor. Jumping or standing on a step stool to play Gold Saucer mini-games. Reaching UP to interact with things, etc. Those sorts animations just don't make sense for any other races.
