Are you not able to use /say chat? I haven't been there in ages honestly, so I'm not quite sure. I vaguely remember people chatting with that.
I don't have time to chat when it begins to begin with. I do like to take that time to look at adventure plates/emote pat lalafells
I think they reason they don't do it is because it's a race and you're on a time limit. Most people aren't going to stop and type out something. Even if they reach the end and are waiting, it would likely just be something distracting. Also as you say, people will likely get toxic with it. This is exactly why we can't chat with the rival team in Frontline and Crystal Conflict.
Square knows that too many people will be using 3 plug-ins to auto farm and complete the event, so they didn't bother with adding chat.
As an avid Fall Guys player and someone vaguely aware of Crystaline Conflict before phrases, uh, it would not be a good idea to say the least...
Doesn't it let you use /shout?
