Alternative, Non-Ultimate, "Ultimates"

Hallo,

I've been a long time FF14 player and wanted to voice something, that Abit... Saddned me or made me think.

Ultimates are very cool and a Huge Spectacle, everyone who can beat them, you have my respect. Yet still... I wish there would be a way, for lets say: "less skilled players" to experience them as well. To make things clear: "No. I don't say, make Ultimates Easier." That would ruin the whole Point of "The Ultimate Test of Skill"

Let me explain what I mean:

An Ultimate, often gives a different perspective of a story, best seen with the Dragonsong's Reprise or Futures Rewritten... Even the New Ultima Ultimate.

From an encounter, experience perspective. I think those fights are very interesting and I doubt anyone could argue with that. This... Is what saddens me Abit. I admit, I doubt, I could beat an ultimate, playing nearly flawlessly for such a long times, is... Something I don't think I could achieve, possibly. I did Savage raiding mostly successfully, but Ultimates feel like they are on a different kind of level.

Regardless, what would make me, and some of my friends even, who share this view, really happy. Is if there would be a an altered Version, that is less hard/punishing with "no rewards at all" or "Completely different rewards", lets call it: "Yeay! You did it, good job! Here take you loli and I hope you enjoyed the experience." Or maybe make it like Unreal fights maybe.

I imagine it like a normal or more hard Trial, where it shows you the Base of the Mechanics at play and offers you the same kind of Story experience.

With this, Ultimates, could not only be a spectacle for the Most Elite players, but the Story within, the lets say "experience" , can be experienced also by less skilled players or players who don't care about "Rare Shiny Weapon" and "Titel". I am totally fine, with NOT having the Ultimates Weapons, I did not earn them, but I would love to experience the fight, even if its toned down in difficulty.


I hope I could make you understand the Point or suggesting I am trying to make.

My reasoning for this is: I... Personally... always kinda Ignored Ultimates. They are supposed to be this HUGE spectacle of a fight and design, but... Every time one got released, I could not care less, as I knew... Yeah. This is not made for me (what is totally fine!). But lately, I really wish, that there would be an option where I could enjoy them as well in a less hardcore/ultimate way.

Thank you for reading this and I want to emphasize again! I don't want Ultimates to be more Easy, just an alternate Version, like Unreal fights, that is more accessible for more players.

I'd like a "normal raid" version of ultimates, mainly to enjoy the spectacle of it.

To be honest if you can do savage, a lot of older ultimates are easier than modern savages by now.

But, that's certainly not to take away from your post. I think it could be damn cool. It's the same reason why I absolutely hate how they always lock second phases on the last raid bosses behind savage, which completely removes half of the spectacle and story beats of most raid tiers by now and that's a damn shame. Like, people don't play savage for the story or the lightshow, that's what the storymodes are there for and they're the first thing people will play the raid through. But instead we get extremely underwhelming last raid bosses (M8 anyone? E12? P8? But many others as well) in their story version that just feel unfinished and unsatisfactory to fight against.

This is so True... I also always found it quiet simple that they lock the second phase behind Savage. Why?
Its sad and I would love for that to change in the future as well. It just makes me like the normal fights even less.

I get where you're coming from but the difficulty is the entire point of ultimates. Witnessing the spectacle firsthand with your own character is as much a reward for progging the fight as the weapons at the end. If you want to see it for yourself I encourage you to pick one that looks cool and find a group. They're a ton of fun and if you've had success in savage tiers then you're more prepared than you might think, especially for the older ones. :)
